On October 17th we had the honor of a large gathering for our ever popular "Open House" event. We had almost 30 participants, some from as far away as the Tacoma Washington area, Damascus and Independence Oregon.. Thank you to all those who were able to make it. It was a pleasure to be able to work with you again!
Many instructors shared their knowledge with the group. Although an "open" event, the vast majority of participants were Yudansha level practitioners. The next such event is scheduled, tentatively, for January 22nd. We will have more on it as the date gets closer. We also plan to expand the schedule an hour, making the event three hours long. We will try a Saturday for the next time as well. This may allow the presence of more visitors. News - October 2010
Real Surprise!
I showed up for a private lesson with Mr. Guinette and was surprised to see two of my former instructors with him, Mr. Oviatt and Mr. Coffman. They explained that they were in the area and had dropped in to observe a lesson. I invited them to join us but they declined so I changed into my gi in preparation for the lesson not knowing what to make of their unexpected visit. Just as the lesson was to start Mr. Guinette mentioned that we needed to take care of something first, then they presented me a plaque beautifully made by Mr. Oviatt and signed by many of you. Thank you for the recognition, it certainly was not expected. I'm grateful to help promote Kenpo in some way. Paul News - November 2010
